US Federal Judge rules that school does not have the right to "out" gay students

A student and the ACLU have sued an Orange County school district after the school "outed" a gay young woman to her parents. The student was known to be gay to her friends and her school community, but had not told her parents. The Federal Court has refused a motion to dismiss brought by the school board on the basis that the school has a right to out gay kids.
